Role Purpose:
The Senior Project Manager will be instrumental in leading large-scale water infrastructure projects within the Tampa area. This role requires a visionary leader who can uphold the organization's commitment to quality and efficiency while managing the complexities associated with public utility projects. The right candidate will ensure the timely delivery of projects while fostering a culture of safety and regulatory compliance.
What will You Be Doing:
In this role, you will manage the full lifecycle of water and utility construction projects, from preconstruction planning to project closeout. This encompasses coordinating scheduling and resources, overseeing procurement processes, managing client communications, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. You will also focus on building and mentoring effective project teams, all while driving operational efficiency.
The successful candidate will undertake the following responsibilities:
Lead and manage large-scale water, wastewater, or utility projects. - Coordinate preconstruction efforts, scheduling, and resource planning. - Oversee procurement, submittals, RFI processes, and change management. - Track project performance, financials, and client communications. - Build and mentor project teams, including engineers and field staff. - Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. - Drive operational efficiency, ensuring projects run smoothly from mobilization to closeout. -
Expected Experience:
10+ years of project management experience in heavy civil or water infrastructure. - Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred). - Proven ability to manage large budgets, schedules, and team performance. - Strong communication and client-facing leadership skills. - Experience with public utility, wastewater treatment, or stormwater infrastructure projects is a plus. - Willingness to relocate or travel within the Southeast region (relocation assistance may be available).
Nice-to-Have Profile Points:
Advanced certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, APM). - Expertise in innovative construction methodologies or technologies. - A proactive approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution. - Strong stakeholder management skills with experience in public versus private sector environments.
