Role Purpose:
The Senior Project Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and managing large-scale water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure projects. This position is designed for a seasoned professional who will oversee project execution from initial planning through to successful completion, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
What will You Be Doing:
In your daily role as Senior Project Manager, you will coordinate all aspects of preconstruction efforts, schedule resource planning, and oversee various project functions including procurement, submittals, and change management. You will serve as the primary liaison for client communications, actively tracking project performance and financials while mentoring and building teams comprised of engineers and field staff.
As the successful candidate, you will undertake the following responsibilities:
Lead large-scale water, wastewater, or utility construction projects. - Coordinate preconstruction efforts including scheduling and resource allocation. - Oversee procurement processes, submittals, RFIs, and change orders. - Maintain oversight of project performance metrics and manage client communications effectively. - Build, mentor, and lead project teams from engineering design to field staff operationalization. - Ensure all project activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. - Drive operational efficiency from the project mobilization phase to final closeout.
Expected Experience:
10+ years of project management experience specifically within heavy civil or water infrastructure sectors. - A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. - Proven track record of managing substantial budgets, schedules, and team performance. - Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to lead client-facing interactions. - Familiarity with public utility, wastewater treatment, or stormwater infrastructure projects is advantageous. - Willingness to relocate or travel throughout the Southeast region, with potential relocation assistance available.
Nice-to-Have Profile Points:
Previous experience with infrastructure modernization funded by initiatives like IIJA and ARPA. - Additional certifications related to project management or civil engineering. - Experience in utilizing project management software and tools to enhance operational performance. - Ability to implement innovative solutions for sustainable water management practices.
